Allison Moon is the author of five books including the instant classic sex-ed guide Girl Sex 101. Inspired by her sex education work, Moon writes screenplays, stage plays, and teleplays that explore the complexities of identity, sexuality and eroticism, particularly when interfacing with technology. She has a degree in Neuroscience and Theatre from Oberlin College and is an MFA candidate in Creative Writing for the Performing Arts at UC Riverside (’24).
Her play ZERO STATE was an O’Neill Semifinalist (2022) and part of the Bay St. Theater’s 2022 Title Wave New Works Festival.
THE TIP OF THE TONGUE was produced in the 2021 Fresh Fruit Festival of LGBT Plays and received a reading at the Come Inside Theater Festival in Portland, OR.
She received two special recognitions from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for writing and directing an adaptation of LYSISTRATA.
Moon’s books have received awards including The Golden Crown Literary Award, Rainbow Book Awards, and Bi Book Awards, as well as starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly.
She was a Lambda Literary Emerging LGBT Writers resident.
